My Ethos

My animals are my life. My life revolves around them, their welfare and their well being.

I have had dogs all my life. My parents had a cocker spaniel who was older than me, and I have hardly ever been without a dog. My very first paying job was in a kennel with boxers and whippets.

At Mikmaqlabs I try very hard to breed healthy dogs. I do a lot more DNA testing and X-rays than the minimum required.

I rear my puppies as naturally as I can: I wean them onto a raw diet and I use natural wormers in conjunction with testing rather than filling them up with unnecessary chemicals. The same goes for vaccinations: my animals are titre tested annually and vaccinated only if they need it.

I try to teach my puppies about different sounds, textures, environments, people and other dogs so that when they go out to their forever homes, they are confident and happy little people, ready to handle whatever comes their way.

Puppy buyers need to understand that I take responsibility for the puppies I have bred until the day they are no longer with us. I will always be on the end of the phone for any question, no matter how trivial it may seem. And if circumstances change, I will always have the animal back.
